Things I Can’t Live Without: Picasa

Posted on

I know this is hard to believe since I am such a freak about being organized, but I have thousands of photos and .jpeg files scattered all over my computer.

When building a website, I’m constantly tweaking images and I might save ten versions before I’m finished. No kidding, it’s a mess. (Don’t tell my clients).

But thanks to Picasa, a free tool from Google, my photos are now organized. The Picasa Viewer scanned my entire computer and found all my images, no matter where they were. This handy little program then arranged them into thumbnail files (small images) that I can browse and find exactly what I’m looking for, in no time flat.

It’s amazing!

Things I Can’t Live Without: AT&T Navigator iPhone App

I know it’s hard to believe, but I have no sense of direction – none whatsoever. I have been known on more than one occasion to phone a friend from the car, mid-trip, running late, demanding, “Quick! North or south on 95 from Hopkinton to Boston”.

But those days are behind me now that I have the AT&T Navigator iPhone App. For only $9.99 a month, I know where I am all the time.

Besides no longer getting lost, what’s really cool is that when I’m talking on the phone (and when am I not?), the navigation lady “whispers” the directions to me so the person I’m talking to can’t hear her.

How fab is that?
