Things I Can’t Live Without: My iPhone Hot Spot

Posted on

I lived without this for years, and I have no idea how, but last month I turned my iPhone into a “hot spot.”

Think of a hot spot as Wi-Fi on demand. By connecting your computer to your phone, you can use the cellular phone network to access the Internet, anywhere you have cell service.

Just give your cell phone carrier a call to have it set up. (One word of caution: If you’re paying for cell phone data use, when you use your phone as a hot spot you’re running up that usage. Make sure you don’t use too much and end up paying overage charges!)

Great posts Belinda; I forwarded them to my sister to help with her communications and organization – business and otherwise. One additional thing I can’t now live without – my iPad. Once you learn your iPhone, you know how to use an iPad, and it makes a great reference and reading device when your iPhone is too small and you can’t or don’t want to drag out your laptop, like on a plane when the seat in front of you may at any point launch onto your lap! Hanging around Dad’s hospital room it’s also been fabulous, and with all the docs synched with Dropbox or Google Drive as you already pointed out, it’s easy to access everything I need!

Hi Gail – so great to hear from you!

I couldn’t agree more – I love my iPad too – and just like you, I use it for those in-between times and for almost all my reading.
